U.S.-China Center for Medical Exchange

We are a national 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-governmental organization with a mission to fostering the medical exchange between the U.S. and China.  The organization works with institutions such as hospitals, health organizations, universities and medical schools that are interested in collaborating with China for the long term benefits of all patients, in terms of research, clinical practice and eductation.

The exchange can include, but not limited to, (1) promote the visit of each other’s institution (2) hold medical professional conferences and summits (3) organize training programs (4)  hold patients dialogue.

Executive Director

Dr. Wei Wu, MPA, Ed.D

副主任朱全胜, MD, Ph.D. Dr. Wu is the founder for the U.S.-China Center for Medical Exchange. She is an expert on exchange between the U.S. and China. She was the founding director of Chinese language program and special assistant to the Provost on China Affairs at Kansas State University. She has held and participated in many international visitors programs and training programs. The highest level international program Dr. Wu participated was the U.S. President Obama-Chinese President Xi Jinping’s meeting in Washington, D.C. Dr. Wu is also an excellent simultaneous interpreter working with U.S. State Department on multiple international projects. Dr. Wu received the titles of Cultural Ambassador of the People-to-People Exchange and Chinese Ambassador to Kansas. Dr. Wu was well educated in both the Chinese and American educational system. She is an value-based healthcare reform activiest and has been trained at Harvard Busines School on this subject.  She received a B.A. in international economics from Peking University, which is known as the Chinese Harvard; M.P.A. in international affairs from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University; and Ed.D. in education leadership from Kansas State University; and Leadership Certificate from John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University.
Medical Executive Director

Dr. Bruce MacFadyen, M.D.

bruce Dr. MacFadyen is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas; Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Surgery of the Medical College of Georgia; former co-editor of the Journal of Surgical Endoscopy; former editor of Seminars in Laparoscopic Surgery; co-editor of three surgical textbooks, and author of numerous articles and book chapters on minimally invasive surgery, flexible endoscopy, and surgical nutrition. He is past president of SAGES (Society American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons), Past President of the Houston Surgical Society, and Past President of the Houston Gastroenterology Society. His surgical specialties and research interests include general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, surgical nutrition, and flexible endoscopy including upper, lower, and biliary endoscopy. Dr. MacFadyen is charge of training programs and projects related to Medical fields. He has visited Chinese hospitals and received Chinese hospital presidents and vice presidents delegations.
Administration Manager

Ms. Rosemary MacFadyen B.A.,M.A.

rosemary Ms. Rosemary MacFadyen has a B.A. and M.A. in English literature. She has been an English teacher and a senior consultant with Birkman International Inc., a testing program that helps people make occupational and career decisions. She has engaged in US-China projects for more than 10 years. She is very cross-culture sensitive and very resourceful in making program interesting for our visitors. She enjoyed visiting Chinese hospitals and schools.
Communication Director

Ms. Tianlu Redmon

M.A., C.T., M.L.C.I.

 Tianlu Redmon_Web Ms. Tianlu Redmon received higher education in both the U.S. and China. She has a B.A. degree in English literature from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China, and an M.A. degree in liberal arts from St. John’s College Graduate Institute in Annapolis, Maryland. Her responsibilities include internal and external communication and language services. She also coordinates bilingual medical services and training requests. She is a linguist and an expert in Chinese translation and interpretation. She is an ATA-certified English-Chinese translator (passing rate 13%) and Master Licensed Court Interpreter in Texas. Currently, she is Public Relations Director of the Houston Interpreters and Translators Association. She also serves as the Assistant Administrator of the Chinese Language Division, American Translators Association (ATA), and has served on the Leadership Council of ATA’s Interpreters Division since 2015. She has interpreted for many top hospitals in the U.S., including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Duke Health.
Project Director

Dr. Frieda (Zhihong) Li,
M.D., Ph.D.

项目经理Frieda Li, MD, PhD Dr. Li worked on genetics studies of mitochondrial diseases at the Baylor College of Medicine. She established animal models of mitochondrial disease and focused on antioxidant therapies, which can be potentially applied to clinical research. She was a Hyperion Fellow in Biochemical Genetics awarded by the American Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders. Her previous work experience included working as an editor in the science session of the Chinese Medical Association. She also worked as a Medical Journalism Fellow at JAMA of American Medical Association. Dr. Li graduated with a Medical English degree from the Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences (renamed as Jilin University Norman Bethune College of Medicine). Dr. Li received her Ph.D. degree in clinical virology at the Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University in Japan. Dr. Li is in charge of various projects involving med-pharm exchange and technical platform development between U.S. and China. She teaches on diet and nutrition. She is also a licensed Real Estate agent in Texas.
Creative Director

Mr. Benjamin Li

benli Mr. Benjamin Li has 10+ years of experience in graphic design and printing. He has strong graphic design skills and rich experience in print production. He is in charge of design work and materials printing. He has served clients in a variety of industries, including the Houston Rockets, Texas Medical Center, Houston University, China National Petroleum Corporation, and Bank of China. Mr. Li has a B.S. from the Printing Engineering Department of the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication and a Master in graphic design from Pittsburgh State University.
